A Blog Update…

Well hey there folks, thanks for stumbling upon the blog again.

I’ve been meaning to write this post for awhile now but wasn’t quite sure how to say it. I’m feeling inspired tonight so thought I’d give it a try.

Many of you have inquired about my old blog and if I’m able to get my old posts back. The answer is…kind of. As many of you already know, I lost most of my original The Pink Shoelaces blog in Fall of 2023. I’ve figured out what happened and it’s a lot of tech mumbo jumbo but to put it short n’ sweet, it was mostly my fault.

In the meantime, some dude in Tim-Buck-Too took advantage of the now available domain name of “The Pink Shoelaces” and is holding my original URL for ransom. You’ll note that you’re reading this blog post at My Pink Shoelaces.com instead of The Pink Shoelaces.com

I’ve been slow to come back to the blog. I’m pretty bitter that I lost my diary of 4 years. There was so much growth in those 4 years and its a painful reminder of what was lost.

There is a back door link/way that I can access about half of my blog posts and in my spare time I’ve gone digging and retrieving some of my favorite posts from there. I’ll be resharing some throwbacks here in the next few months.

Part of me wanted to ditch the blog altogether but a bigger part of me really enjoys creative writing and sharing my thoughts with the world. I’ve got almost 1,600 followers on Facebook now, I don’t want to just throw that all away. The posts that I am able to retrieve still hold value whether they are on the original site or not.

All this to say, I appreciate my loyal followers. I know many of you have trickled over to me from my mom’s blog but you’ve stayed and encouraged me all the same throughout the years.

So that’s the blog update. You’ll still see posts from me, especially some good throwback posts coming up here this next month. I’m still finding my groove back after getting kicked down by technology but I foresee a full return to the blog in the near future. Stay tuned.
